Network used to trap youth through social media

Investigation has revealed that Shehzad Bhatti and Ajmal Gujjar used to contact Indian youth using social media platforms and encrypted messaging apps. Big information was received in May 2026

Special Cell had received information in May 2026 that Shehzad Bhatti and Ajmal Gujjar were planning a major attack in Delhi-NCR. Based on this information, the police increased surveillance and started investigation. Police arrested Mohit alias Yogi near Bhagirath Water Treatment Plant located in Yamuna Vihar. An illegal pistol, four live cartridges and a mobile phone were recovered from him. During investigation of the mobile phone, a conversation with Ajmal Gujjar came to light. Investigation revealed that weapons and drugs were supplied from Pakistan to Punjab through drones. After this, members associated with the network, including Anas and Karanvir Singh, used to go to Punjab to collect the consignment and deliver it to Delhi-NCR.
