Nirjala Ekadashi 2026: Nirjala Ekadashi is considered to be the biggest Ekadashi of the year. Nirjala Ekadashi fast is observed every year on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. Lord Vishnu is duly worshiped on this day. Devotees do not even consume water while fasting on this day. According to mythological beliefs, Pandu’s son Bhima had observed a fast on this Ekadashi.
There is a religious belief that by observing the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi, one gets the virtuous results of all the Ekadashi fasts of the year. Also one gets special blessings of Lord Vishnu. This year the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi is going to be observed on 25th June. On this day, four such auspicious yogas are being formed which increase the importance of fasting. According to the Panchang, this year Shiva Yoga, Ravi Yoga and Siddha Yoga are being formed on Nirjala Ekadashi. Ravi Yoga will be formed at 05:25 in the morning. On this day Ravi Yoga will last till 04.29 pm. Shiva Yoga will be formed at 10.54 in the morning. Apart from this, Siddha Yoga is also being formed which will last till 11.36 am on 26th June.
Another most important coincidence on this day is Thursday. Nirjala Ekadashi is falling on Thursday. This day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This coincidence on Nirjala Ekadashi is very auspicious. By observing fast and worshiping on this day, the person will get virtuous results.
Nirjala Ekadashi auspicious time (Nirjala Ekadashi 2026 Subh Muhurat)
- On Nirjala Ekadashi, Brahma Muhurta will be from 04:46 AM to 05:17 AM.
- The morning and evening Muhurta will be from 05:01 am to 05:48 am.
- Abhijit Muhurta will be from 01:21 pm to 02:26 pm.
- Vijay Muhurta will be from 04:35 pm to 05:40 pm.
Nirjala Ekadashi puja method (Nirjala Ekadashi Puja Method)
On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, wake up in the morning in Brahma Muhurta and take a pledge to fast and worship. After this, wear clean clothes and spread a yellow colored cloth on a platform. Place the idols of Vishnu and Lakshmi on it. Worship both of them together. Offer incense, lamp, fruits and yellow colored sweets or dishes to God. You can also offer it to God by adding basil leaves in kheer. Read the story of Nirjala Ekadashi fast. Sit and chant the mantras of Lord Vishnu. In the end, perform the aarti of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu.
