According to officials, the construction work will be started after the completion of the tender process. The project aims to be completed in a phased manner over the next 10 years. The biggest benefit of this expansion will be to the millions of people traveling daily. While at present it takes hours to reach the city from many areas, after the introduction of Metro, the travel time can be significantly reduced. It is estimated that about 35 to 40 lakh people will get direct benefits from it. The new DPR also proposes large parking areas, last-mile connectivity facilities like e-cycles and e-bikes for the convenience of commuters. If the plan is completed on time, the public transport infrastructure of Lucknow can be completely transformed in the coming years and people can get great relief from the jam.
