This family lives in Perth city of Australia. The family included 39-year-old Adeel Ahmed, his wife Dr. Sidra Khan, daughter Haniya and 10-year-old son Afan. The family had come to visit Pakistan after performing Hajj. On the night of June 10, when he was passing through Chakwal district, about 300 kilometers from Lahore, his rented car was stopped by two armed robbers on a motorcycle.

Frightened, Adeel Ahmed immediately called the police emergency number and asked for help. As soon as Crime Control Department (CCD) officers reached the spot, the robbers started running away on their bikes. In this chaos, the family also moved their car forward. The police mistook the family car for the robbers’ car and started firing at it.

Haniya was seriously injured in the firing. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. Hania’s father and brother also suffered injuries in this incident. The girl’s father told the media that the police had opened fire first. At present, the police officer who fired at the car has been taken into custody on charges of murder and the other policemen are also being interrogated.
