A 13-year-old girl returning from a coaching institute in Rajasthan’s Tonk district was allegedly stopped by some boys. The boys molested her and threatened to kidnap her if she refused to marry him.
Police said on Saturday that they also threatened to throw acid on the girl and force her to convert to religion. The girl somehow escaped and informed her coaching director about it. The accused boys reached the coaching centre. They assaulted the coaching operator and vandalized the premises.
The incident happened on Friday evening when the girl was returning from her coaching institute. An FIR has been registered against other boys including Aamir Mewati, Saddam Mewati, Tahir Mewati, Rahil Mewati and Hameed Mewati. SP Rajesh Kumar Meena said that two accused have been detained and the search for the rest is on. Appropriate action will be taken based on whatever comes to light in the investigation.
After this incident, protests started on Saturday. The villagers blocked National Highway-52 for about an hour demanding strict action. Former MLA Ajit Singh Mehta also joined the protest and assured the local people of getting justice. Heavy police force was deployed at the spot to prevent the situation from worsening.
