In case, the game is not completed on the first day, there is a reserve day in store. Hence, the South Africa-England game can be completed on Thursday (October 30) while the India-Australia match can finish on Friday (October 31) if rain forces the situation. However, it is worth noting that all efforts will be made to complete the game on the original day, which can include the game being reduced to a 20-over game. For those unversed, to get a result in ODI cricket, both teams need to bat a minimum of 20 overs.

However, if rain washes out the reserve day too, then the team that finished higher on the table will qualify. Hence, England will play the final if their clash against South Africa has no result. Meanwhile, if no result is possible in Navi Mumbai, then India will be knocked out, and Australia will play the final.
