Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Tribal Pride Day should be celebrated grandly on 15th November on the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. Educational, cultural and developmental activities will be organized from 1 to 15 November.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Tribal Pride Day should be celebrated with full enthusiasm and grandeur on 15th November, on the occasion of closing year of 150th birth anniversary of Lord Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He directed that from November 1 to November 15, various cultural, educational and public participation activities should be organized from Gram Panchayats to the capital level. The Chief Minister was addressing the review meeting of preparations for Tribal Pride Day at Samatva Bhawan, Chief Minister’s residence, on Monday.
Activities should be done in educational institutions on the contribution of Birsa Munda.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that awareness activities should be organized in educational institutions across the state remembering the contribution of Lord Birsa Munda in the freedom struggle. He directed that exhibitions should be organized focusing on the lives and struggles of tribal heroes who were active in different areas of the state. Also, debate competitions, essay writing, speeches, quizzes and other cultural programs should be organized to highlight the contribution of the tribal community in the freedom movement.
There should also be self-help group conferences and handicrafts exhibitions.
The Chief Minister said that under Tribal Pride Day, conferences of self-help groups, handicraft exhibitions and programs focusing on folk arts should also be organised. He directed that content related to freedom fighters should be displayed in the fairs held in tribal dominated areas. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that information about government welfare schemes and development activities should be made available to the people in the main programs organized on the concluding day of Lord Birsa Munda Jayanti on 15th November.

The Chief Minister said that the life, struggle and sacrifice of Lord Birsa Munda is inspiring not only for the tribal society but for the entire country. On the occasion of Tribal Pride Day, such events should be organized which give the message of unity, development and harmony.
