In what could be its most headline-grabbing signing yet, JOOLA Japan has welcomed Nagahara to its growing roster of ambassadors, marking a significant moment for both the athlete and the sport of pickleball in Japan.
Nagahara’s credentials speak for themselves – back-to-back world championships, multiple international medals, and a world No. 1 ranking in badminton. Earlier this year, however, she announced her retirement from the sport that made her a household name and turned her focus to a new challenge that’s fast winning hearts across the globe: pickleball.
Nagahara makes the pickleball leap

In an interview with JOOLA, Nagahara revealed how this new sporting adventure began: an acquaintance first introduced her to pickleball, and the fun was instant. “I found it incredibly fun, got hooked right away, and the rest is history,” she said.
