Kurnool bus accident: Police Commissioner Sajjanar calls drunk driver a terrorist

This was a carnage caused by the irresponsible and reckless driving of a drunken biker, which could have been prevented.

This is not a road accident, but an incident of carelessness of a drunken rider which can destroy the entire family in a few seconds. The video of the accused bike driver arriving at the petrol pump at 2:24 pm has been captured in CCTV. A few moments later, his bike went out of control and crashed. At 2:39 the bus ran over his bike, which caught fire and everything was destroyed. His decision to drink and drive caused a devastation unimaginable. Therefore, I stand by my statement that drunk drivers are like terrorists. Because they destroy lives, families and futures. We will not tolerate such incidents,’ he warned.

Bus driver had taken DL by submitting fake documents

Hyderabad: Initial investigation has revealed that the driver of the bus that killed 20 people in Kurnool had obtained the driving license by submitting a fake certificate. Miriyala Lakshmaiah, arrested in this case, had failed in class 5. But he submitted a fake certificate by claiming that he was SSLC passed and took the DL.

Confirmation of drinking alcohol

Meanwhile, forensic investigation has revealed that Shivshankar, the bike rider who caused the bus accident, and Eriswami, who was sitting behind him, were both drunk. Apart from this, CCTV footage of both of them purchasing liquor from the liquor shop before the accident has also been found.

400 buses investigated, 40 buses seized

Hyderabad: After the Kurnool accident, Telangana Transport Department officials have checked more than 400 private buses in two days. During this, many aspects like emergency gate of the bus, fire extinguishing equipment, glass breaker hammer, RC, fitness certificate and DL of drivers were checked. During this period, 40 buses and 4 cars violating the rules have been confiscated. Besides, a fine of more than Rs 15 lakh has also been imposed. Fine of Rs 23,000: During the investigation, it was also revealed that the Bengaluru-bound bus which met with an accident early on Friday had 16 cases registered against it and a fine of Rs 23,000 was pending.
