Semifinal of ICC Women’s World Cup 2025: Now it is the turn of the semi-finals in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. The group stage of the tournament came to an end with the canceled match between India and Bangladesh on 26 October. Pakistan emerged as the worst team of this tournament. Apart from India, South Africa, England and Australia were successful in getting tickets for the semi-finals. Now the question is, how will the semi-final matches be played between the top 4 teams in the tournament?
When will the semi-final matches be played?
The first semi-final match of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 will be played on 29 October. Whereas the second semi-final match will be held the very next day i.e. on 30th October. The first semi-final will be held at Barabati Stadium in Guwahati. Whereas the thrill of the second semi-final will be seen at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
How will the semi-finals be played?
Now the question is how will the semi-finals be played? Meaning which team will compete with whom? The first semi-final will see a clash between England and South Africa. This match between the two teams will take place at 3 pm Indian time. When these two teams met in the group stage, England gave a sensational defeat to South Africa by all out for 69 runs. This was the first match of these two teams in the tournament. Now South Africa will have a chance to take account of that defeat.
The second semi-final of the tournament will be between India and Australia. This match will also start at 3 pm Indian time. Australia defeated India by 3 wickets in the group stage. Now in the semi-finals, Indian women will have a chance to equalize the score of group stage defeat by preventing Australia from reaching the finals.
Semi-final on the ground where Team India did not lose
The good thing for India is that it has to play the semi-finals at DY Patil Stadium, where it did not lose a single match in the group stage. India played 2 matches, one of which was won while the other was cancelled. If India wins the semi-finals by defeating Australia on this ground, then it will be the third time after 2005 and 2017, when the Indian team will be seen playing the finals.
