Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh): The world’s most expensive mango, Japanese Miyazaki, has been offered to Lord Ram for the first time in Ayodhya. This mango is also known as ‘Egg of the Sun’. This rare mango has been grown by a local farmer from Ayodhya. Its price in the international market is between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh per kg. It is estimated that the price of one fruit is around Rs 1 lakh, which makes it one of the most expensive mango varieties in the world. A tree made a farmer a millionaire
As per local traditions on Monday, this fruit was offered to the Lord along with Tulsi Dal. This Miyazaki mango has been grown by farmer Omprakash Singh. He had planted the tree about two years ago to see if it could thrive in the climate of Ayodhya. According to Singh, the tree successfully adapted to the climate here and gave about a dozen fruits this season.

- Speaking to ANI, Singh informed that Miyazaki mango is known for its exceptional sweetness, high fiber and nutrients.
- Singh said, “This is a very famous mango from Japan called Miyazaki. It is the most expensive mango in the world. It is much sweeter than other varieties, it is rich in fiber and it is also full of vitamins.
- The farmer told that he had planted this tree about two years ago to see whether it would survive in the climate of Ayodhya or not. It bears about a dozen fruits, whose weight ranges between 150 to 300 grams.
- As per tradition, the first ripe mango was offered to the Lord. Apart from Miyazaki, I am also growing ‘Banana Mango’ from Thailand, ‘R2E2’ from Australia and Indian varieties like ‘Chausa’ and ‘Dashari’.”
Foreign mango varieties planted in Ayodhya
- The farmer said each fruit weighed between 150 to 300 grams and as per tradition, the first crop was offered to the deity through its guru.
- Apart from Miyazaki, Singh’s garden also has many indigenous and foreign mango varieties like ‘Banana Mango’ from Thailand, ‘R2E2’ from Australia and ‘Chausa’ and ‘Dussehri’.
- During the visit of Omprakash Singh to the garden, Mahant Sitaram Das Ji Maharaj threw light on the tradition of offering the first crop to God.
- He said that being the first fruit of the season, it was appropriate to offer it to God. Praising the unique texture of Miyazaki mango, Mahant ji said that the color of the fruit is like that of the Sun God who illuminates the universe.
This Japanese mango is really amazing
Mahant Sitaram Das Ji Maharaj told ANI, “Mango is the king of fruits. Today we came to Om Prakash ji’s garden to see ‘Miyazaki’, which is the famous mango of Japan and the most expensive mango in the world. The fruit was ripe and the first offering was offered to God. It is our tradition that everything is first offered to God. It is really amazing; its color is like the Sun God. This is the first fruit of the season and it has been offered to God. By God’s grace, many more fruits.” Will grow and be offered as Prasad. This is the first time that this fruit has grown in Ayodhya. I pray to God that Ayodhya continues to grow in glory like this.”
