This day is considered to be of meditation, fast and silence, so no work is done and people do not travel from entertainment. Because of this, shops and restaurants are closed. The roads appear empty and there is no public function of any kind. During this day, no flight is taken from Nagurah Rai International Airport.

On NewP Day, silence takes place for 24 hours, which starts from 6 am and it is concluded at 6 am the next day. Mainly, people celebrate these festivals, but people of all religions follow its rules, because it is considered a spiritual and cultural festival. In the year 2025, this day was celebrated on March 29, while in 2026, it will be celebrated on 19 March. On this day there is a public holiday in the entire Indonesia.
