Maner Vidhan Sabha Election 2025: Maner assembly seat of Patna district is considered very important in the politics of Bihar. Caste equation has always dominated this seat. Especially the large number of Yadav voters has made it a fort of RJD for a long time. This is the reason why brother Virendra has been winning here for three consecutive elections.
2010 elections: RJD’s comeback
In the 2010 assembly elections, Bhai Virendra (RJD) had won from Maner seat.

- Shrikant Nirala (JDU): 48,217 votes
- Margin of victory: 9,601 votes
Note: This victory made the path ahead easier for him.
2015 elections: Dominance increased with second victory
In 2015, brother Virendra defeated Shrikant Nirala of BJP and further strengthened his hold.
- Bhai Virendra (RJD): 89,773 votes
- Shrikant Nirala (BJP): 66,945 votes
- Margin of victory: 22,828 votes
Note: This victory shows that the inclination of Yadav and Muslim voters was clearly towards RJD.
2020 election: hat-trick victory
In the 2020 elections, brother Virendra won for the third time by defeating Nikhil Anand of BJP.
- Bhai Virendra (RJD): 94,223 votes
- Nikhil Anand (BJP): 61,306 votes
- Margin of victory: 32,917 votes
Note: This was his biggest victory till date, which made Maner an invincible stronghold of RJD.
Caste equation: Yadav in decisive role
Maner assembly constituency has the highest number of Yadav voters. More than one lakh Yadav voters decide election victory and defeat here. Apart from these, there is also a good share of upper caste, Mahadalit, Muslim and Brahmin voters. This is the reason why RJD has been getting continuous lead here.
2025 elections: Will RJD’s fort break?
Now the big question is whether brother Virendra will be able to register his fourth victory in 2025 or whether BJP and JDU together will be able to create a new equation. The opposition’s strategy and caste manipulation can make the elections interesting this time.
