- On the day of Skanda Shashthi fast, wake up early in the morning and take bath. Then wear snake clothes.

- Keep the idol or picture of Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati and Lord Kartikeya at the place of worship.
- Offer Roli, sandalwood, akshat, fruits, flowers and turmeric to Lord Kartikeya.
- After this, light incense, lamp and incense sticks.
