He said that farmers have adopted cash crop production with great enthusiasm. This is the reason that today Madhya Pradesh has reached the first position in the country in tomato production.

The Chief Minister said that tomato has now become not just a kitchen necessity but a means of economic prosperity for the farmers. Tomato based industries are getting encouragement from PMFME scheme
The Chief Minister said that through the Prime Minister Micro Food Enterprises Upgradation Scheme (PMFME), tomato based small scale industries are being provided assistance on a large scale. This scheme not only limits the farmers to crop production, but also gives them an opportunity to move forward in the field of processing and value addition.
Up to 50 percent subsidy on tomato seeds to farmers
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government is giving up to 50 percent subsidy on tomato seeds. With this grant, farmers are getting great relief in costs and they are able to earn better profits by producing more.
