Veteran actor Satish Shah, one of Indian television and cinema’s most beloved faces, passed away on October 25, 2025, due to kidney failure. He was 73. His death has left the entertainment industry in deep grief, as tributes continue to pour in from colleagues, fans, and friends remembering the laughter, warmth, and talent he brought to the screen.

According to the family, Shah’s mortal remains will be kept for public viewing at his residence, Gurukul, 14 Kalanagar, Bandra (East), near Matoshree, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on October 26, allowing admirers and well-wishers to pay their final respects. His last rites will take place at Pawan Hans cremation ground, S.V. Road, Vile Parle (West), at noon, where close friends and family are expected to gather for the final farewell.
Known for his impeccable comic timing and versatility, Satish Shah ruled Indian television in the 1980s and 1990s with iconic shows like Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. His contribution to Bollywood was equally remarkable, with memorable performances in films like Main Hoon Na, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, and Kal Ho Naa Ho.
Industry colleagues, including Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak Shah, Paresh Rawal, and others, have expressed shock and sorrow over the loss of a man who not only defined laughter on screen but also embodied humility and grace off it. Shah’s passing marks the end of an era in Indian comedy — a storyteller whose work continues to evoke smiles across generations.
