Gautam Gambhir, India’s head coach, had stated that touring England has always been a challenging assignment, but after a series-levelling win, asserted that the team might win or lose, but will never give up.
Gambhir, who had said that the quality of cricket in the ongoing series has made “every cricket lover proud,” took to social media and wrote: “We’ll win some, we’ll lose some…. but we’ll NEVER surrender! Well done boys!”
Adding to his statement, former India pacer Irfan Pathan wrote: “Exactly what this team did brother. Fought and Didn’t surrender till the last day.”
Gambhir, who had earlier addressed a gathering at the India House, had also expressed gratitude for the fans’ support during the course of the series.
“Touring this part of the world has always been challenging because of the history between the two countries, which can never be forgotten,” Gambhir had said during his speech.
“Whenever we have toured the UK, the kind of support we have got, we cherish every bit of it. We never take anything for granted.
“Last five weeks have been really exciting for both countries with the kind of cricket that has been on display, which I’m sure has made every cricket lover proud,” he added.
“Both the teams have thrown a lot of punches and have fought for every inch,” he further added.
