When will the auspicious works start?
This time the festival of Devuthani Ekadashi will be celebrated on 1st November, Chaturmas will end on the very next day i.e. 2nd November. As soon as Chaturmas ends, the ban on auspicious activities like marriage, tonsure and housewarming will be lifted. Many auspicious times for marriage etc. are coming in this month.
Why is Devuthani Ekadashi special?
The festival of Devuthani Ekadashi will be celebrated on 1st November, Saturday. It is believed that on this day Lord Vishnu wakes up from sleep after 2 months and takes up the responsibility of running the universe. That means for the next 8 months the world will be governed by Lord Vishnu. This time Baikunth Chaturdashi is on 4th November, on this day there is a tradition of Harihar Milan in Ujjain in which Lord Mahakal comes to Gopal Temple riding in a palanquin and hands over the responsibility of creation to Lord Vishnu.
