Shibu Soren, who was a pioneer in the movement of Jharkhand state, used to call Shibu Soren as Guruji. He was the Chief Minister of the state 3 times. However, he could not complete his term even once. He became the third Chief Minister of Jharkhand (2005), separated from Bihar. During his first term in 2005, he could stay in the Chief Minister for just 10 days, then during his second term in 2008 and a few months during the third term.

Apart from being the Chief Minister, Shibu Soren also succeeded in the politics of the center. He was first elected MP in 1980. He tried his luck for the first time in the 1977 Lok Sabha elections but he lost to Dumka seat. He lost to Bateshwar Hembram of Bharatiya Lok Dal in the election.

Coal minister became 3 times at the center

However, he was elected MP in the 1980 election. He became an MP from Dumka for the first time. After this, he won continuously in 1986, 1989, 1991 and 1996. However, in the 1998 elections, he faced defeat from the then BJP President Babulal Marandi. In the 1999 election, he fielded his wife but she also lost. After this, in 2004, 2009 and 2014, he also won from Dumka seat.

Overall, he was a Lok Sabha MP 8 times. Apart from this, Narasimha Rao of Shibu Center and Manmohan Singh also became ministers in the government. He was currently a Rajya Sabha MP. He was at the Center 3 times at the Center (2004, 2004 to 2005 and 2006).
