Trump Threten India: US President President Donald Trump has once again warned India in harsh tone. Trump said on Truth Social that India is buying large quantities of oil from Russia and selling it at huge profits in the open market. Trump said that now he will impose more tariffs on India. However, Trump has not yet clarified how much tariff he was going to impose. Just a few days ago, Trump announced 25 percent tariff on India. Apart from this, penalty was also announced on buying oil from Russia. On the other hand, India had decided not to respond to Trump’s tariff and said that he should find a solution from the conversation. No statement of the Government of India has yet come after Trump’s new threat.

India’s strategy and global pressure
Actually, India is the third largest crude oil importer in the world. It was more dependent on the Middle East but Russia began selling oil at exemption due to Western countries banning Russia after the Western countries after the War. India took advantage of this opportunity. India is constantly buying oil from Russia. Trump and Western countries are very angry with India’s move. Recently, Trump had threatened to demolish India’s economy. Earlier, European Union also threatened India.
However, India is continuously defending oil purchases from Russia. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar also said in a press conference in Washington in 2022 that Europe buys as much as India buys oil from Russia in a month.
