Raipur. Three trainee officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, at the Chief Minister’s residence office in the capital Raipur. Presently these officers are undergoing training at Chhattisgarh Academy of Administration, Nimora. During the meeting, the officials received guidance from the Chief Minister on important issues related to administrative work and public service.

Told administrative service as the most effective medium of public service

Congratulating and best wishes to the trainee officers on their achievements, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that administrative service is the most effective platform to serve the society and the common people. He said that the decisions of an administrative officer directly affect the lives of thousands of people, hence public interest should get top priority in every decision.

He advised the officers to discharge their responsibilities with sensitivity, impartiality and dedication. He also said that the basic objective of administrative service should be to go among the people and understand their real problems and solve them.

It is necessary to use the knowledge of education and training for the benefit of society.

The Chief Minister said that the knowledge acquired during education and training would be considered meaningful only when it is used to bring positive changes in the society and the lives of common citizens. He expected the officers to use their knowledge and experience in development and public welfare works.

Introduced to the development journey and possibilities of Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Shri Sai informed the officials about the social, economic and cultural characteristics of Chhattisgarh. He said that Chhattisgarh is a state full of possibilities, where the people are simple, hardworking and friendly in nature. He discussed in detail the rapidly developing connectivity in the state, possibilities of tourism sector, success in eradicating Naxal and new achievements of development. The Chief Minister also shared his experiences related to the rich tribal traditions, cultural diversity and emerging opportunities of the state.

Advice on making honesty and public interest the basis of administration

The Chief Minister told the trainee officers that honesty, loyalty and feeling of public interest are most important in administrative life. He said that every decision taken keeping public welfare in mind contributes significantly to the development of the state and society.

Trainee officers shared experiences from Bastar to Surguja

During the meeting, the trainee officers said that as part of the training, they got the opportunity to visit Sukma and Bijapur districts of Bastar division as well as Jashpur, Surguja and Koriya districts of Surguja division. During this time he studied local culture, life, development works and administrative systems. The officials also had darshan of Maa Danteshwari and closely understood the social conditions of the area.

Chhattisgarh’s culture and intimacy impressed

While sharing their experiences, the trainee officers said that Chhattisgarh is a state full of diversity, cultural richness and intimacy. The belongingness of the people here, tribal traditions and development possibilities impressed him a lot. He said that it is both an honor and responsibility for him to work in the interest of the society and the common people through administrative service.

Discussion on UPSC preparation and administrative life experiences

During the meeting the officials also discussed the preparation, challenges and inspirational experiences of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). While sharing his experiences related to public life and public service, the Chief Minister inspired the officers to keep learning continuously, stay connected to the grassroots level and work with a humanitarian approach.

Took guidance from Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai before district training

It is noteworthy that Indian Administrative Service Trainee Officer Shri Gokul R. K., Shri V. Yashwant Nayak and Shri Ishant Jaiswal have been allotted Chhattisgarh cadre. Presently he is undergoing training at Chhattisgarh Academy of Administration, Nimora. Before leaving for the district training, he met Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and received his guidance. On this occasion, Director General and Additional Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Administration Academy, Mr. Subrata Sahu, Director Mr. T.C. Mahawar and Joint Director Shri Pranav Singh were also present.
