For those looking for a massy family entertainer, there is Son Of Sardaar 2, which went on to bring in Rs. 9 crores on Sunday after a start of Rs. 7.50 crores on Friday.
Of course, had it been a solo release and there were no holdover releases then it could well have comfortably got into double digits in each of the three days of the weekend. However, it is what it is currently and what matters is whether the Ajay Devgn led comedy manages to keep the momentum intact over the weekdays as well and build on top of Rs. 24.75 crores that it has accumulated so far.
On the other hand, Dhadak 2 chose to wait for a few months before arriving at an ideal release date. However, it wouldn’t have known that there would be immense competition from holdover releases as well when it eventually arrives. Had there been a challenge just from Son Of Sardaar 2, then that would still have been okay since the two films are absolutely different from each other. However, there are so many other films also playing around it which means Sunday numbers stretched towards Rs. 4.27 crores mark when absence of any such competition would have helped it case to score better. The Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri starrer currently stands at Rs. 11.97 crores.
