Four Day Festival: Dates 2025
chhath puja The festival lasts for four days, starting with ‘Nahay-Khay’ and ending with ‘Usha Arghya’.
- First day 25th October Nahay-Khay: Bathing in the river and eating pure, sattvik food.
- Second day 26 October Kharna: Fasting throughout the day, taking prasad of jaggery kheer and roti in the evening, after which 36 hours of waterless fast begins.
- Third day: 27 October Evening Arghya: Offering water to the setting sun.
- Fourth day: 28 October Usha Arghya: Parana (conclusion) of the fast by offering Arghya to the rising sun.
