Benipur Assembly Election 2025: Benipur Assembly seat of Darbhanga district is once again in the headlines in Bihar Assembly elections 2025. There are a total of 2,83,444 voters in this seat and it is part of Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency. In the last three elections, there has been a fierce contest between JDU, BJP and Congress. The special thing is that JDU is winning this seat twice in a row (2015 and 2020).
2020: JDU had won
The competition here was very tough in 2020. JDU’s Binay Kumar Choudhary and Congress’s Mithilesh Kumar Choudhary were face to face. In the result, JDU won and Binay Kumar Chaudhary got 61,416 votes, while Mithilesh Kumar Chaudhary got 54,826 votes. The victory margin was only 6,590 votes.
2015: JDU’s Sunil Chaudhary won by 26,443 votes.
In the 2015 elections, the contest was JDU vs BJP. At that time Sunil Kumar Chaudhary of JDU had registered a spectacular victory. He got 69,511 votes, while BJP’s Gopal Ji Thakur had to be content with only 43,068 votes. The victory margin was 26,443 votes, which is proof of JDU’s landslide victory.
2010: Lotus bloomed by BJP
In 2010, BJP performed brilliantly on this seat. Gopal Ji Thakur won from here and got 43,222 votes. In front of him was RJD’s Hare Krishna Yadav, who got 29,265 votes. The victory margin was 13,957 votes.
