Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote a new chapter of development in Meerut and performed Bhoomipujan of the new Integrated Township Project costing Rs 2,517 crore under the Chief Minister’s Urban expansion/new city incentive scheme. Spread over an area of 295 hectares, this project will make Meerut a modern center of residential, industrial and commercial facilities. On this occasion, CM Yogi took concrete steps towards empowerment by providing financial assistance to young entrepreneurs, self -help groups and housing scheme beneficiaries. At the same time, he criticized his policies on issues like Malegaon, launching a scathing attack on the opposition.

New identity of Integrated Township Meerut- CM Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath dedicated this huge township project launched in Meerut to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and named it as ‘Atal Shatabdi’. The project will provide cheap and sustainable housing for citizens of the National Capital Region (NCR) due to being close to Rapid Rail. CM said that this township will give a new form to Meerut, which will have residential, industrial and commercial facilities as well as schools, technical institutes and medical colleges. This project will provide employment opportunities to millions of people and Meerut will be made a new center of development.

CM Yogi gave a citation to the beneficiaries of various schemes and during the honor program, CM Yogi distributed loans of Rs 29 crore to 675 entrepreneurs under the Chief Minister’s Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign. Also, 881 self -help groups were provided assistance of Rs 64 crore. Under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, the beneficiaries were given the keys of the houses, while the farmers who did excellent work were honored with a citation. These initiatives have led to a new pace to economic and social empowerment in Meerut.

Now Meerut is known globally for sports items- Chief Minister CM Yogi stressed on the changing image of Meerut and said that earlier Meerut was identified from Chor Bazaar like ‘Sotiganj’, but today the city is known for sports items under Rapid Rail, 12-Len Expressway and One District One Product (ODOP). He said that the country’s first sports university is being established in the name of Major Dhyanchand in Meerut. The country’s largest expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj will be inaugurated by the end of this year, which will make the distance from Meerut to Lucknow in just 6 hours. CM also announced other development works like reconstruction of Inner Ring Road and Circuit House here.

The Congress maligned the nationalist leadership by implicating innocent Hindus in the Malegaon incident- Yogi Adityanath CM Yogi fiercely targeted the Congress and Samajwadi Party on issues like Malegaon. The Chief Minister also announced a free bus journey for women on 8, 9 and 10 August on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. He said that our government has decided that we will leave the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation and city development bus services for Rakshabandhan for free traffic for sisters. On all three days, they will provide their traffic facility for free. Sisters will definitely get free facility in the transport corporation’s bus wherever they want to travel inside Uttar Pradesh. During this time there will be no problem in traffic.

Leaving the riots behind, Meerut has moved on the path of progress today- CM CM Yogi said that the zero tolerance policy has freed Meerut from riots and crimes and put it on the path of development. Eight years ago, Meerut was scorched in the riots fire, but today it is progressing with infrastructure like rapid rail and expressway. The start of survey work of expressway from Meerut to Haridwar and plans to bring divisional offices under one roof are also important steps towards development.
