Under Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for the Army, procurement of Nag Missile System (Tracked) Mk-II (NAMIS), Ground Based Mobile ELINT System (GBMES) and High Mobility Vehicles (HMVs) with Material Handling Crane was approved. NAMIS (Tracked) will help in destroying enemy combat vehicles, bunkers and other field forts. GBMES will make it possible to monitor electronic signals of the enemy 24 hours a day. Indian Navy’s strength will increase

Smart ammunition for Landing Platform Dock (LPD), 30mm Naval Surface Gun (NSG), Advanced Lightweight Torpedo (ALWT), Electro Optical Infrared Search and Track System and 76mm Super Rapid Gun Mount were approved under AoN for the Navy. LPD will help the Navy in conducting amphibious operations and in peacekeeping, disaster relief and humanitarian missions. The ALWT, which has been developed at DRDO’s Naval Science & Technological Laboratory, can target small and nuclear submarines. The 30mm NSG will enhance the capability of the Navy and Coast Guard, especially in low intensity operations and anti-piracy.

New systems for Indian Air Force

Collaborative Long Range Target Saturation/Destruction System (CLRTS/DS) and other proposals were approved under AoN for the Air Force. The system has the capability of autonomous take-off, landing, navigation, target identification and payload delivery in the mission area. These approvals will increase the operational capability and technical strength of the Army, Navy and Air Force. The Defense Ministry says that the inclusion of these new technologies and systems will help the Indian Armed Forces to face every kind of challenge.
