There is a direct contest between BJP and RJD on 51 out of 243 seats in Bihar Assembly elections 2025. These seats are considered decisive in deciding the equation of power, due to which the competition has become tough and interesting.

Patna: The colors of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 are now fully lit and this time the contest has become tougher and more interesting than before. There is going to be a direct face-to-face between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on 51 assembly seats out of 243 seats in the state. Although both the NDA and the Grand Alliance are in the fray along with many constituent parties, these 51 seats are the most discussed in political circles because they will decide who will come to power.

BJP vs RJD on 51 seats

This time BJP is contesting elections on a total of 101 seats, while RJD is fielding its candidates on 143 seats. There is a direct contest between these two parties on 51 seats, that is, on more than one-third seats the main contest will be between Lotus versus Lantern. On the remaining 50 seats, BJP is in competition with other parties like Congress, VIP, HAM or JDU. Whereas 91 candidates of RJD are other allies of NDA. JDU, LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM and VIP candidates are battling. The nomination of RJD candidate on one seat has been cancelled.

Bihar’s most high-profile war

The two seats most in the news are Raghopur, from where Tejashwi Yadav is in the fray. Tarapur, which is the stronghold of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. There is a direct contest of prestige between BJP and RJD on these two seats. Tejashwi is among the public on the strength of his political legacy and youth leadership, while Samrat Chaudhary is in the field in the name of government functioning and good governance.

BJP veterans also entered the field

Two veteran former MPs of BJP are also trying their luck in the assembly battle this time. Ramkripal Yadav (Danapur) and Sunil Kumar Pintu (Sitamarhi). Both of them also have a direct fight with RJD candidates, which has made the contest more interesting.

‘Direct war’ spread from North Bihar to Seemanchal and Magadha

The geographical spread of these seats is also interesting. From North Bihar to Seemanchal and Magadha, the lights of lotus and lanterns are clashing with each other. Caste equations, local issues and personal hold of the candidates are going to play a decisive role on these seats.
