Assam Train Blast: A major train accident was averted in Assam late night. The explosion occurred at around 1 o’clock in the night, causing damage to the railway track. Due to the accident, about 8 to 10 trains ran late.
Assam Train Blast: At around 1 am on Thursday night in Kokrajhar district of Assam, unknown people carried out a blast on the railway tracks. Due to this, 8 to 10 trains ran late. Officials said track repairs were completed by 5:25 am and trains started running normally again by 5:30 am. To increase security, patrolling has also been increased in this area. In this blast that took place on the railway tracks, there were no casualties nor did any train derail. Senior Superintendent of Police Pushparaj Singh said that the damaged portion of the track was immediately repaired and now all trains are running normally. According to an official, the train service remained closed overnight due to which people had to face a lot of problems.
A massive explosion occurred at 1 o’clock in the night
NFR CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said that the blast occurred at around 1 am near Kokrajhar station under Alipurduar division. A goods train was passing between Salakati and Kokrajhar at night when the train manager felt a strong shock and stopped the train. Investigation revealed that the tracks and sleepers were damaged due to a suspected bomb blast.

Police engaged in investigation of the case
Railway Police Superintendent Pranjit Bora said that there was damage to the railway track in Kokrajhar, which was probably due to the blast. Now the track has been repaired and trains are running normally. Bora said that the railway loco pilot had informed about the problem last night. After this the district police and GRP reached the spot and started investigation. He further said that the investigation is still in its initial stages, so nothing can be said for sure right now. All details will be shared after the investigation is completed. If it is sabotage, it will be found out who was involved in it. Track repairs have been completed and trains are now running normally.
