The recent cyber attack on Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), a luxury car company owned by Tata Motors, is being considered the most damaging cyber incident in Britain so far. The Cyber Monitoring Center (CMC), which conducts independent assessments of cyber incidents in the UK, has described the JLR cyber attack as a Category 3 systemic incident. CMC says that this attack caused massive disruption in JLR’s manufacturing, supply chain and distribution network. The Jaguar Land Rover production plant was attacked in late August and production remained halted throughout the month of September.
