Suspicious death of a B.Tech student in a PG in Bengaluru. It is believed that he died due to inhaling the poisonous smell of medicine that kills bedbugs. Police have registered a case under UDR from the angle of negligence of PG management and started investigation.
Bengaluru: A tragic incident has taken place in HAL Police Station area of Bengaluru, where a B.Tech student died mysteriously. The cause of death is said to be inhaling the poisonous smell of medicine sprayed to kill bed bugs in the room. The death of this student from Tirupati has raised serious questions on the security arrangements of PG (Paying Guest) management.
Bed bug medicine took Pawan’s life
The deceased student has been identified as Pawan, a resident of Tirupati. He was pursuing B.Tech in Bengaluru and lived in a PG in HAL police station area. The incident happened like this: PG management had sprayed medicine to kill bedbugs in a room. But, no correct information was given about this to the students living there, due to which Pawan went into that room.
Pawan’s health deteriorated due to inhaling the poisonous smell of bedbug medicine spread in the room and he fell unconscious. As soon as people came to know, he was immediately taken to the hospital, but by then he had died. This incident shows serious negligence of PG management.
Case registered under UDR, investigation started
Pawan’s body has been sent to Boring Hospital for post-mortem. The real cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report comes. In this case, HAL police reached the spot and investigated and registered a case under UDR (Unnatural Death Report) and started investigation.
It is important to follow safety rules when spraying bed bug insecticides, such as sealing rooms, not allowing anyone inside until the smell has completely dissipated, and informing occupants in advance. But, none of these rules were followed, due to which an innocent student lost his life. This incident shows how careless PG owners and staff can be in using such poisonous things. The police will investigate whether the death occurred due to the negligence of the PG management.
