Rewa Lok Sabha seat, which maintains its identity in the entire country for the White Tigers, is one of the important seats in the Vindhya region of Madhya Pradesh. This Lok Sabha seat is on the border of Uttar Pradesh, due to which apart from BJP-Congress, vote banks of other parties are also present here. This Lok Sabha seat was formed in 1951 itself. From then till now this seat has not been held by any single party. This is perhaps the only seat in the entire state from where independent candidates, MPs from Bahujan Samaj Party, Janata Dal, BJP and Congress were elected in turn. There is no other seat in the entire state from where MPs from so many parties have been elected.

Rewa Lok Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh had given the first BSP MP to the state. Apart from this, independent candidates have also won this seat twice and have traveled till the Parliament. Only the people here understand the mood of the people here. At present no party has been able to understand the mathematics of Rewa Lok Sabha seat properly. However, BJP has won from here in 2014 and 2019. Before this, there had been MPs from BSP party.

If we talk about the tourist places in this area, then this area is surrounded by beautiful Vidhya hills. The waterfalls flowing from these hills make this entire area very beautiful. The first white lion was found in the forests here. There is the Bandhavgarh fort in this area surrounded by forests and rivers. Thousands of tourists from across the country and the world come here every year to see this fort. Mainly Bihar and Bichhiya rivers flow in this area. Many small and big beautiful waterfalls are formed in the course of these rivers. These include Purva Waterfall, Bahut Waterfall, Kyoti Waterfall, Chachai Waterfall and Piyawan Ghinouchi Dham. Apart from these, White Tiger Safari of Mukundpur is also worth seeing.

White Tiger and politics

The name of Rewa Lok Sabha has become famous in the whole country because of the White Tiger. There was a time when the politics of this region revolved around Shri Niwas Tiwari or rather the white lion of Madhya Pradesh politics. He has been the Speaker of the Assembly for 10 consecutive years. His son Sunderlal Tiwari took over the patriarchy and once became an MP from here. Although Congress gave ticket to Sunderlal Tiwari in 2009 and 2014 also, but after that he could not lead the party to victory.

After this, Congress gave ticket to Sunderlal’s son Siddharth Tiwari but he also failed to win. If we talk about this Lok Sabha seat, then the entire Rewa district has been included in Rewa Lok Sabha. 8 assembly seats have also been included in this Lok Sabha which include Sirmaur, Simaria, Teonthar, Mauganj, Devtalab, Mangawan, Rewa and Gur. Of these, except one, BJP is in control of all the seats.

What happened in the last election?

BJP had given ticket to Janardan Mishra for the second time from Rewa Lok Sabha, in this election Congress had no other big option other than the Tiwari family. After the death of Sunderlal Tiwari, Congress had given ticket to his son Siddharth for sympathy vote. Vikas Singh Patel stood from BSP in this election. When the election results came out, all the arrows of Congress went back into command. Yes, Janardan Mishra got 5.83 lakh votes, while Congress’s Siddharth Tiwari had to be content with only 2.70 lakh votes. Whereas Vikas Singh Patel got only 91 thousand votes.

How was the 2019 election?

Sirmaur, Semaria, Teonthar, Mauganj, Devtalab, Mangawan, Rewa, Gudh assemblies have been included in Rewa Lok Sabha. If we talk about the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, then BJP’s Janardan Mishra was in the fray while Congress had given a chance to Siddharth Tiwari from this seat. While Janardan Mishra got 5,83,745 votes from here, Siddharth Tiwari got 2,70,938 votes. There was a difference of about 3 lakh votes between the two.
