The politics of this parliamentary seat, which is filled with many beautiful views, has been very strange. Due to the feud between the royal family here, strange political equations have been seen forming in this area many times. Many people still remember the dispute between former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Arjun Singh and his younger brother Ranbahadur Singh. When Ranbahadur Singh had contested and won as an independent candidate from this parliamentary seat against the wishes of his elder brother, Arjun Singh had fallen behind in getting this seat reserved. Since it came into existence in 1952, Sidhi Lok Sabha seat has been a Congress stronghold for a long time, although since 1998, BJP has won every election except one by-election.

There are many beautiful tourist places in this area situated amidst the Kaimur hills. Sanjay Dubri Tiger Reserve also attracts people here, while this area is very famous for crocodiles. A wildlife center has been built here for crocodiles. It has been named Jogdaha Sun Gharial Wildlife Centre. Apart from these, Mada caves are also one of the major tourist places in this area.

What can we say about the beauty of Bhanvarsen Bridge? Apart from these famous places, if we talk about religious places here, Chandreh Shaiv ​​Temple Math is the center of special faith of the people. Ghoghra Devi Temple is also a major tourist and religious place here. It is said that Birbal, one of Akbar’s nine gems, was also born in this area. The banks of Son River make this area even more picturesque. Many devotees and tourists come to these areas every year.

This Lok Sabha seat has also been created by combining 8 assembly constituencies. These include Churhat, Sidhi, Dhauhani and Sihawal of Sidhi district, Chitrangi, Singrauli and Devsar of Singrauli district, Beohari assembly seat of Shahdol district. If we talk about these assemblies, BJP has won all the places except Churhat. This seat was held by the Socialists during the initial elections in which the Kisan Mazdoor Praja Party and then the Socialist Party won in 1952.

After this, in 1962, Anand Chandra Joshi transferred this seat to Congress. In 1971, former Chief Minister Arjun Singh’s younger brother contested elections from this seat as an independent candidate and won. Janata Party entered here in 1977. This seat has been held alternately by Congress and BJP, finally in 1998 BJP got the monopoly here with Jagannath Singh. After which BJP is continuously winning except one by-election.

What happened in the last elections?

If we talk about the previous elections on this Lok Sabha seat, BJP had given ticket to Riti Pathak from here. Whereas Congress had fielded Arjun Singh’s son Ajay Singh alias Rahul Bhaiya. In this election, Riti Pathak got 6.98 lakh votes while veteran Congress leader Rahul Bhaiya had to be satisfied with only 4.11 lakh votes. BSP had also fielded its candidate in this election. BSP’s Ramlal Panika got only 26 thousand votes. Riti Pathak had registered a spectacular victory in this election.
