VIDEO: Liam Livingstone’s Powerful Hit Breaks Spideycam During LSG vs PBKS IPL 2024 Clash; Boundary Girl’s Reaction Goes Viral

Punjab Kings’ all-rounder Liam Livingstone’s brute force while trying to hit a six almost damaged the spideycam during the IPL 2024 clash against Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday, March 30.

The incident took place in the final over of the Punjab Kings’ 200-run chase when Livingstone faced the deliver from Lucknow Super Giants’ pacer Naveen-ul-Haq and dispatched it to the deep wicket. However, the ball seemed to going towards the stands but it hit the Spideycam. The powerful hit by Liam Livingstone broke the camera but the ball was declared dead by the umpire.

Though Spideycam gained attention, the reaction of the boundary girl went viral on social. The girl was mixed with a shock and amusement as he watched the ball being hit hard on Spideycam.

 

 

This was not the first time the Spideycam made it to the headlines. During the match between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur, the play had to be halted after just two balls as the wire of the Spideycam which was hung on and operated by the main broadcaster of the tournament fell down on the ground. It was retrieved by the members of the production and the staff of Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings suffered second successive defeat of the ongoing IPL season. With a target of 200, PBKS failed to achieve it as they were restricted to 178/5 despite skipper Shikhar Dhawan’s fighting knock of 70 off 50 balls.

‘Pity that Livingstone got injured’: Shikhar Dhawan

Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan reckoned that Liam Livingstone’s injury was a big setback for the team, resulted in defeat against Lucknow Super Giants. He would have come at two down but came a little late due to injury.

“They played well, pity that Livingstone got injured, that hurt us, and he would have come at 4,” Dhawan said at the post-match presentation.

Liam Livingstone suffered an injury while fielding during the first innings of the innings. Seemingly, the all-rounder pulled up harmstring injury and remained out of the field for entire first innings.

Livingstone walked out to bat at No.3 and scored an unbeaten 28 off 17 balls at a strike rate of 164.71. At that time, PBKS required 60 off 24 balls to win the match and Liam Livingstone was visibly struggling to run between the wickets due to hamstring injury. But, his valiant eff0rt went in vain as Punjab Kings’ fell 21 runs short of the target.
