A tough contest is certain between RJD, BJP and JDU in the Taraiya Assembly elections 2025. BJP had won in 2010, RJD in 2015 and BJP again in 2020. Now whether RJD will make a comeback in 2025 or whether BJP will maintain its hold is a big question.

In 2010, Janak Singh of BJP defeated Tarakeshwar Singh of Congress by a margin of 6,970 votes.

- Tarakeshwar Singh (Congress): 19,630 votes
Important thing: With this victory, BJP strengthened its hold in rural areas and emerged as a big player in the politics of Taraiya.
2015: RJD’s big comeback (Taraiya Assembly 2015 Result)
In 2015, RJD showed its traditional hold. Mudrika Prasad Rai (RJD) defeated Janak Singh of BJP by a margin of 20,440 votes.

- Janak Singh (BJP): 48,572 votes
Important thing: This result proves that the Yadav-Muslim equation strengthened the RJD and the BJP had to face defeat.
2020: Return of Janak Singh (Taraiya Assembly 2020 Result)
The competition in 2020 was very interesting. BJP candidate Janak Singh defeated RJD’s constable Lal Mahato by 11,307 votes and put the seat back in BJP’s account.
- Janak Singh (BJP): 53,430 votes
- Sipahi Lal Mahato (RJD): 42,123 votes
Important thing: This result shows that BJP won by capturing the votes of upper caste and extremely backward classes.
Note: Six criminal cases are registered against BJP leader Janak Singh. Janak Singh, who is educated till graduation, has total movable and immovable assets worth Rs 6.80 crore. He also has outstanding dues of Rs 29 lakh.

- Total voters in Taraiya Assembly are around 3.05 lakh.
- Male voters: 1.60 lakh
- Women voters: 1.45 lakh
Important thing: Here Yadav, Brahmin and Muslim voters play a decisive role. Yadav-Muslim votes traditionally go with RJD, while Brahmins and extremely backward classes seem to support BJP-JDU.
2025: Sound of triangular contest (Taraiya Election 2025)
- The 2025 elections are going to be very interesting.
- RJD may possibly field Mrityunjay Rai.
- JDU will try to change the equation with a new face.
- BJP may again field Janak Singh, who had registered a landslide victory in 2020.
