P-8 aircraft provided first relief
During the rescue operation, the US Navy’s P-8 maritime surveillance aircraft reached the spot and played an important role. The plane dropped a life raft into the sea, which provided immediate relief to the people in the boat. According to sources, everyone managed to reach the life raft after the boat started sinking. After this the aircraft continued to monitor the entire operation.
Merchant ship also became life saver
A merchant ship also made an important contribution to the rescue operation. St Kitts and Nevis-flagged merchant ship MV Jabal Ali 9 was heading from Sohar to Mumbai at that time. At the request of the US Navy, the ship’s course was changed and it was sent towards the troubled area. During such operations at sea, nearby merchant ships often provide vital support to relief efforts.
All 14 people are Indian citizens
Officials have confirmed that all 14 people on board the boat are Indian citizens. However, an official statement has not been issued yet regarding his health condition and the final status of the rescue operation. Indian agencies are continuously monitoring the situation and coordinating with the concerned authorities.
This area is very strategically sensitive
This incident took place in the eastern sea area of Oman, which is located near the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is counted among the world’s most important maritime trade routes, through which a large part of the global oil supply passes. In the last few months, due to increased tension between America and Iran and ongoing conflicts in West Asia, the strategic importance of this region has increased further. For this reason, special vigilance is being taken at the international level regarding maritime security.
Maritime traffic is already under pressure
The impact of regional tensions is also visible on maritime trade and shipping activities. Many international shipping companies are taking extra precautions given the safety risks. According to reports, a large number of ships and sailors are facing prolonged rough sea conditions in the Gulf region and around the Strait of Hormuz, which has also affected trade activities.
The reason for the sinking of the boat is still a mystery
At present it is not clear how the boat got into trouble and why it sank. Officials say that a detailed investigation into the cause of the incident will be conducted after the rescue operation is completed. Meanwhile, the biggest relief is that the information about the crisis was received on time, due to which the rescue operation could be started immediately through international cooperation. It is expected that all the Indian citizens will be evacuated safely and official information regarding their condition will be revealed soon.
