In the 2020 Assembly elections (Ghosi Assembly Election 2020), Mahagathbandhan candidate Ram Bali Singh Yadav (CPI-ML) created history by defeating Rahul Kumar (JDU). He secured 74,712 votes, while Rahul Kumar got 57,379 votes. The victory margin was 17,333 votes. This victory broke the reign of familyism.

2015 elections: JDU gained dominance

In 2015, Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma of Janata Dal United (JDU) defeated Rahul Kumar of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM). Verma secured 67,248 votes, while Rahul Kumar got 45,623 votes. The margin of victory was 21,625 votes.

2010 elections: Rahul Kumar’s big victory

In the 2010 elections, JDU candidate Rahul Kumar won by defeating LJP’s Jagdish Prasad. Rahul Kumar got 40,364 votes, while Jagdish Prasad got 26,088 votes. The margin of victory was 14,276 votes.
