Bengaluru: Gold jewelery worth Rs 7 lakh was defrauded from a woman working in a private company in the name of Pooja. The incident took place in Whitefield police station area. A case has been registered against two people including a woman in this matter. Police officials said that on the complaint of Moin Pasha, resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Whitefield, an FIR has been registered against Navida Sultana and Parvez and investigation has been started.
What is the whole matter?
The complainant Moin Pasha is a software engineer. He told, “On May 23, on the advice of a friend, I helped a woman named Navida Sultana. She was unwell, so I admitted her to a private hospital.” He further said, “Meanwhile, Navida saw my brother and said that he was in great danger. If the puja was not performed, he would die within 10 days.”
Moin Pasha said, “I got scared after hearing this. On his request, I made all the preparations for the puja and called the accused home on May 25. The puja continued from midnight to 1 am in the morning. During the puja, the accused asked me to bring 35 grams of gold ornaments kept in the house. They tied the gold in a cloth and kept it in an iron box and told them not to open it for 90 days. After the puja, both the accused left early in the morning. On this puja, I was close to me. Rs 30,000 were spent.”
A few days later, Navida calls Moeen and asks for a loan of Rs 60,000. When he refused to give the money, she started getting angry at him. Moin became suspicious and when he came home and opened the box, he saw that the gold was missing from the lump of cloth.
“When I asked Navida to return her jewellery, she started making excuses and has not returned the gold till date,” Moeen said in his complaint. Police officials say that on the basis of this complaint, a case has been registered against the accused and they are being searched.
