UPI payment of a passenger who bought samosa at Jabalpur railway station failed. After this, the shopkeeper forcefully snatched the watch from the passenger. When the matter escalated, railway officials intervened and took action against the shopkeeper.

Jabalpur: When the UPI payment of a passenger who bought samosa at Jabalpur railway station failed, the shopkeeper snatched the watch from his wrist. This incident became a big controversy after its video surfaced. The passenger says that after purchasing the samosa, he tried to make payment through PhonePe, but the UPI transaction failed. Meanwhile, when the train started moving, he tried to return the samosa.

But, in the video it is seen that the shopkeeper is stopping the passenger from boarding the train and is holding his collar. The shopkeeper was shouting that he would not let him leave without paying and accusing him of ‘you are wasting my time and making excuses’. When there was no other way left to board the train, the passenger took off his watch and gave it to the shopkeeper.

The video went viral after it was posted on Instagram with the caption ‘Shameful incident at Jabalpur railway station’. It has been confirmed that this incident took place on 17 October. After the video went viral, railway officials immediately intervened in the matter. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Jabalpur also replied on the ex-post.

DRM said that the shopkeeper has been identified and RPF has registered a case against him and taken him into custody. Apart from this, the process of canceling his license is also being initiated. The officials also assured that steps will be taken to prevent such incidents from happening again.
