This digital road safety system has been initially installed on important roads like Jawaharlal Nehru Marg and Tonk Road. This system works on Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras, which are installed at intersections. As soon as a vehicle passes through the sensor zone, cameras scan its registration plate. After this, this system extracts the vehicle information from the National Transport Database and displays it on a big LED screen.

These smart displays not only show pending traffic challans but also other important information related to the vehicle. This also includes the current insurance status of the vehicle and the expiry date of the Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate.

Videos of these big display panels installed at the famous intersections of the city are going viral on social media. In these videos, it is seen how information about both challan defaulter and non-defaulter is appearing on the screen.

The device not only displays information but also sends instant alerts to traffic police officers deployed at checkpoints ahead on the road. This helps the police to catch serious or repeated rule breakers on the spot and take action against them.
