Kolkata: Samvat 2081 is bidding goodbye after a tumultuous year when tariff-related uncertainties were thrust upon an unsuspecting world by US President Donald Trump, throwing the world economy into a limbo and the equity markets into doubt and despair. Investors are praying that the new investment year does not bring any new nasty surprise.
Samvat 2082 will ring in on Tuesday afternoon. HDFC Securities has issued a Muhurat Trading stock list, which features 10 stocks. Let’s have a look at the recommendations, the target price and the price on Friday, October 17, 2025. Muhurat trading will be held on Tuesday, October 21.
“Policy tailwinds and long-term opportunities”
HDFC Securities, one of the most prominent brokerages of the country, has said that the external sector uncertainties notwithstanding, there are strong headwinds in the Indian economy with GDP growth projections placing it at the top of the major economies of the world and the current years projections are higher than that achieved in the last financial year and the GDP forecasts for FY27 being brighter than that in FY26.
“Policy tailwinds include a 50 bps CRR cut, 100 bps rate reduction, improved bank liquidity, RBI dividend transfer, budget consumption boost, rising government capex, and GST 2.0 reforms-positioning the economy at an inflexion point. Markets will track the US trade deal progress and the earnings growth trajectory this year. Double-digit FY27 earnings growth could deliver strong market returns, with mid and small caps gradually improving,” mentioned HDFC Securities in its note to investors.
The analysts of the brokerage also counted the above-normal southwest monsoons, service industry pick up and healthy reservoir levels that promise good Rabi crop among the tailwinds, advising investors to look beyond near-term volatility. “… current weakness-driven by global rather than domestic factors-offers long-term investors opportunities to accumulate quality stocks at attractive valuations for potential outperformance till next Diwali,” said HDFC Securities.
