The festive shopping celebration of Diwali has started from 22nd September on the day of Navratri and will continue till the day of Tulsi Vivah. CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal said that according to an estimate, business worth Rs 5 lakh crore is expected to be recorded across the country in the Diwali festival.

According to a recent report released by the apex organization of the automobile sector, the total retail sales of automobiles increased by a whopping 55% during the Navratri period. Among all categories of vehicles, two wheelers, three wheelers, commercial vehicles, private vehicles and tractors have seen growth of 52%, 115%, 48%, 70% and 58% respectively. These figures show the strong business expected during the Diwali festivities.

There will be demand in these sectors

According to an estimate, around 5 crore gifts ranging from small to big items are exchanged during the Diwali festival period, which contributes significantly to the Diwali festival sales. CTI, after talking to Hotel and Banquet Associations, Restaurant and Mall Associations, Cinema Associations, Shopping Center Associations, Car Dealers Associations, Make-up and Salon Associations, Tour and Travel Associations, Market Associations, Industry Associations, etc., has concluded that this festival season will see about Rs 5 lakh crore spent across the country. There can be a trade of rupees.

CTI issued a statement saying that this year there is more emphasis on sale and purchase of Indian products in Diwali. Due to the GST reforms of the Government of India, there has been a lot of encouragement in promoting the sale of Indian products and CTI had also appealed to the traders and common people of Delhi to buy and sell indigenous goods made in India.

More sales of these goods

Made in India products especially home decor items, Diwali puja items including earthen lamps, deities, wall hangings, handicraft items, auspicious signs, traditional good luck symbols like Om, puja items of Goddess Lakshmi and Shri Ganesh ji, home decor items made by local artisans, craftsmen and skilled artists will find huge trade in the markets across the country.
