The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has launched a new Fastag Annual Pass for daily travelers in India, which will be available from 15 August 2025. Keep in mind that it is not necessary to take this annual pass. The current fastag system will continue as before. Those who do not want to take an annual pass, they can continue to pay normal toll from their fastag as before. Who can’t take Fastag Annual Pass?
For this pass, you can apply for a new or use existing fastag. But there are some conditions for this, such as the vehicle should be valid in the vahan database, Fastag should be affixed to the windshield of the car, the registration number of the vehicle should not be in the blacklist, etc.
If only the chassis number is registered in a fastag, then the annual pass will not be released on it. For this, it is necessary to update the registration number of the vehicle.
Which vehicles can take the annual pass?
This pass will be valid only for private non-commercial trains like cars, jeeps and vans. Fastag will be verified from the Vahan database before activating it. If a commercial vehicle uses it, according to the ministry, it will be canceled immediately without any information.
Where can Fastag Annual Pass?
This pass will be valid only on the toll plaza of National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE). If you use it on a state highway (SH) or expressway toll run by a state government or local body, then a separate user fees can be charged.
Can anyone else use my fastag near?
No. This pass cannot be transferred and will be valid only on the vehicle on which Fastag is affixed and registered. If it is used on another vehicle, the pass will be canceled immediately.
How long will the Fastag annual pass be valid?
As soon as the payment is confirmed (for Rs 3,000 for the year 202526), this pass will usually be activated within two hours. This pass will provide free travel to private cars, jeeps and vans on the National Highway and National Expressway toll plaza until this passed one year or 200 trip (whichever is completed earlier). Once the limit is completed, it will automatically turn into a normal fastag.
