Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh is provided to eligible families every year. Now the Uttar Pradesh government is running a special campaign to extend the benefits of this scheme to as many people as possible.

In this sequence, special camps are being organized across the state for making Ayushman cards, so that eligible people can easily join the scheme and get the benefits of health protection.

Ayushman Card Scheme: People are getting free treatment through this scheme by getting Ayushman card made across the country. Important steps are being taken by the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure that more and more people get the benefits of this scheme. State Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has informed that a special registration campaign is being run from 15 May 2026 to 14 August 2026 under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). The aim of this campaign is to reach those eligible families whose Ayushman card has not been made yet.

Special camps are being organized by the government at the district, block and gram panchayat level, where beneficiaries can register themselves and get Ayushman card made.

What is Ayushman Bharat Scheme?

Ayushman Bharat Yojana is an ambitious health scheme of the Central Government, under which cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh per year is provided to economically weaker needy families. Under the scheme, treatment can be provided in government empaneled private hospitals.

Through this scheme, lakhs of families are getting financial assistance for the treatment of serious diseases. The burden of health related expenses has reduced significantly.

Big relief for the elderly

Senior citizens are being given special priority in this campaign. The government has clarified that all elderly people of 70 years of age or above can get Ayushman card made.

For this, they will have to reach their nearest health camp or registration center with the necessary documents. After making the card, the elderly will get financial assistance during treatment and their access to better health facilities will be easier.

Special health camps are being organized in rural areas by the state government. In these camps, eligible beneficiaries are being identified and the process of issuing Ayushman cards is being completed by registering them on the spot.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that the government wants that the benefits of the scheme should reach every eligible person. He appealed to the people that if any member of their family is eligible for Ayushman card, then they should get their card made as soon as possible.

He said that if Ayushman card is made on time, families will not have to face financial problems for treatment if needed and will be able to get better health services.

How to make Ayushman card?

To get Ayushman card made, eligible persons can go to their nearest health camp, Common Service Center (CSC) or designated registration center. There the card will be issued after verification on the basis of Aadhar card and other required documents.

The government believes that through this special campaign, lakhs of new beneficiaries will join the scheme and poor and needy families will get a strong cover of health security.
