Lakshmi ji’s aarti

Diwali Lakshmi Aarti: Diwali is one of the major festivals of Hindu religion. On this day, Lord Shri Ram returned to Ayodhya with his brother Lakshman and mother Sita after completing 14 years of exile. On this day, special worship of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, is done. In some places, Diwali is also known as Lakshmi Puja. On this day, there is a tradition to worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha together. However, there is a belief that Aarti of Goddess Lakshmi should not be performed on Diwali. Let us tell you why Goddess Lakshmi Aarti should not be performed on Diwali.

Should Aarti of Goddess Lakshmi be performed on Diwali?

There are different beliefs about performing Aarti of Goddess Lakshmi on Diwali. But according to most religious beliefs, Goddess Lakshmi Aarti should not be performed on Diwali. The belief behind this is that after the Aarti, people get up and leave, due to which Goddess Lakshmi feels that she is being sent off and she leaves the house, which may lead to shortage of money. In such a situation, apart from the Aarti of Goddess Lakshmi, you can do the Aarti of Lord Ganesha and Lord Vishnu on Diwali.

Why should Aarti not be performed?

Departure of Mother Lakshmi:- This is the main reason. It is believed that after the Aarti, everyone stands up and leaves and similarly Goddess Lakshmi also leaves your house, due to which there can be financial crisis.

Lack of peace:- Goddess Lakshmi loves peace and during the Aarti there is loud sound of bells and conch shells, due to which she may feel restless.

Farewell sign:- Aarti is considered a sign of farewell. Since Goddess Lakshmi is called home for permanent residence on Diwali, performing a farewell aarti to her is not considered auspicious.

What to do instead of Goddess Lakshmi Aarti?

During Diwali puja, you can perform aarti of Lord Ganesha and Vishnu. Apart from this, on Diwali, instead of Aarti of Goddess Lakshmi, you can chant her, chant mantras or recite Chalisa. To get the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi on Dhanteras, worship her with rituals and offer fruits, flowers and other favorite things to her.
