Lizzy opens up about life after the drunk driving scandal
In 2021, the idol was involved in a DUI accident, after which she ended up facing a lot of criticism and backlash from the public. She has been on a break ever since; however, after almost 4 years, she has made her return to the public.

She joined her fellow former member Jungah from After School in an episode uploaded on the latter’s channel ‘ Jjungthewoman ’, where she opened up about the incident and everything that had happened. During the interview, she got emotional and talked about the DUI accident, saying that it was not something that should’ve ever happened.

“What happened was something that should never have occurred, and there is no room for excuses — it was clearly my fault”, Lizzy stated in the interview.

While talking about dealing with the issue, the idol shared that at the time, she had been extremely popular, so to see the love that she had been receiving turn into something bitter is what affected her the most. It also led her to make more and more mistakes at the time.

She shared, “At first, the criticism and condemnation I received were frightening. I used to be loved for my cheerful and positive image through variety shows, Orange Caramel, and After School, but suddenly I was shunned by many people”.
