‘Interesting One!’: Trump Intrigued By Russia’s Wild ‘Putin-Trump Undersea Tunnel’ Proposal | WATCH

After the Kremlin suggested that Russia and the United States build a “Putin-Trump” rail tunnel under the Bering Strait to link the two nations, the US president has responded.

A Russian investment envoy named Kirill Dmitriev suggested on X on Thursday that Elon Musk’s tunnelling company build a link between the rival countries, with partial funding from Russia’s sovereign wealth fund.

“The dream of a U.S.-Russia link via the Bering Strait reflects an enduring vision – from the 1904 Siberia-Alaska railway to Russia’s 2007 plan,” Dmitriev wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “RDIF has studied existing proposals, including the U.S.-Canada-Russia-China railroad, and will support the most viable.”

Reacting to the proposal, Donald Trump told reporters during an Oval Office meeting, “That’s an interesting one. We’ll have to think about that.”

What is the Putin-Trump tunnel plan?

The plan calls for a 70-mile rail and cargo tunnel to be built by Elon Musk’s Boring Company within eight years at a projected cost of $8 billion. The project, Dmitriev said, would be funded by Moscow and “international partners.”

In a follow-up post, he wrote, “Elon Musk, imagine connecting the US and Russia. The Americas and Afro-Eurasia, with the Putin-Trump Tunnel, a 70-mile link symbolising unity. Traditional costs are $65B+, but [Musk’s] Boring Company’s tech could reduce it to less than $8 billion. Let’s build a future together!”

This comes after a 350-page Russian document on the assassination of former US President John F. Kennedy was handed to US Representative Anna Paulina Luna by Russia’s ambassador in Washington.

“The following report ref the JFK assassination was delivered to me by the Ambassador from Russia and is now made accessible to the American public at the link below. These documents have not been edited, redacted or tampered with but appear in their original form as delivered to me. While experts are actively authenticating the legitimacy of these documents, at this time they are believed to be authentic. Now the American people have full unrestricted access to decide for themselves,” Luna said on X.

One of the documents includes a Cold War-era map showing a proposed bridge between Alaska and Siberia, spanning the Bering Strait and connecting the two countries. The bridge was dubbed the Kennedy-Khrushchev World Peace Bridge.

Russian outlet Sputnik called the document “Kremlin’s official findings on the JFK assassination” and Russia’s embassy in Washington confirmed it had shared the archives and said the full set would be published in Moscow in November.
