This matter is related to a fake signature case. In this connection, CID officials had also reached Abhishek Banerjee’s house on Friday. Earlier on Thursday, officers had interrogated Abhishek for more than 5 hours at the CID headquarters in Kolkata. Sagarika Ghosh said in a post on social media platform X that the CID team reached the Kalighat house at 3 in the morning. He claimed that the disaster management team was called at 5 am to break the lock. After this, the search started at 6:30 in the morning, which continued from the second floor to the roof. According to Sagarika, nothing was found in the search that lasted for about 90 minutes.

Sagarika alleged, “This is all an attempt to take political revenge, intimidate and mentally harass. Operation Lotus is targeting all those leaders who do not bow to BJP’s orders. This is a shameful attack on an opposition leader.” TMC MP Kirti Azad also reacted to the incident, calling it a part of BJP’s vendetta.
