Import may increase

At the same time, this amount increased to $ 3.7 billion in the first quarter of 2025-26. In July 2025, India ordered 23% more crude oil from America than in June. America’s stake in India’s total crude import was the first 3%, which increased to 8% in July. Government sources say that in the financial year of 2025-26, Indian companies can increase crude oil imports from America by 150%.
LPG and LNG import increased
Apart from oil, India has also increased the import of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and liquid natural gas (LNG) from the US. In 2024-25, LNG imports increased from $ 1.41 billion to $ 2.46 billion. According to sources, a large LNG contract between India and the US is also in discussion, which can cost billions of dollars.
