19 rebel TMC MPs in West Bengal will stake claim as the real party. Due to this, there is a danger of Mamata Banerjee being thrown out of the party. An FIR has also been registered against the former CM for his inflammatory statement and the building containing 4000 EVMs has caught fire.
New Delhi: The rebellion in the party has intensified after TMC was out of power in West Bengal. 19 rebel MPs of Lok Sabha are now preparing to get their faction recognized as the real TMC. For this, he is going to meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday. If the Speaker accepts their demand, then it will be almost certain that Mamata Banerjee will be out of her own party, which she formed 28 years ago.
Rebel group MP Jagdish Chandra Burma said, ‘We have already given a letter in this regard. On Monday, we will meet the Speaker and stake claim to form the real TMC parliamentary party and request for recognition. He told that this letter has signatures of 19 MPs. Since this number is more than two-thirds of the total MPs of the party, the chances of them getting recognition are quite high. It is being said that the leader of this rebel group could be Kakoli Ghosh.
Meanwhile, MP Shatabdi Roy said, ‘Mamata Banerjee has not contacted us. Now they have only 6-7 MPs left. However, the MPs of the rebel group have not yet said anything openly about expelling Mamata from the party. But if the Speaker recognizes the rebel group, then Mamata Banerjee can approach the court. If she gets defeated there too, then the rebel group can expel her from the party or she herself can leave the party.
Provocative statement: FIR registered against former CM Mamta
An FIR has been registered against former Chief Minister of the state Mamata Banerjee for making inflammatory statements and creating communal tension during the West Bengal Assembly election campaign in March. During an election rally in Dharmatala, he had said that if a particular community attacks Hindus, then Hindus can be eliminated in 5 minutes. A businessman filed a complaint against Mamata saying that this statement disturbs social peace and communal harmony. On the basis of this complaint, Hare Street Police has registered an FIR.
If the party disintegrates, whose property worth Rs 220 crore will be lost?
TMC, which ruled West Bengal for 15 years, is now on the verge of collapse. In such a situation, the question is arising that which group will be considered real and whose property worth crores of rupees will go to the party.
According to the income tax returns filed in 2025, TMC’s earnings in 2024-25 were Rs 219.35 crore. Of this, Rs 184.08 crore came from donations and Rs 33.685 crore came from FD interest. Before the electoral bonds were cancelled, TMC had raised Rs 1,609.5 crore through them between 2029-24. The earnings for 2025-26 have not been announced yet, but according to a report by ADR, TMC has the highest assets after TDP among the 36 regional parties of the country.
Earlier, Ritabrata Banerjee, who had rebelled along with 56 MLAs, has been declared the leader of the opposition. In such a situation, if the party officially splits into two, the Election Commission will give the election symbol of ‘two flowers’ to one of the factions. Then the entire property of the party will also go to the same group. If the rebel group is accepted as the real TMC and it merges with BJP in future, then all the funds of TMC will also go to BJP’s account.
Bengal: Fire in building containing 4000 EVMs, SIT formed to investigate

It is being told that votes from 10 assembly constituencies were recorded in these. The fire could be controlled after 24 hours, but this incident has raised many questions. Kolkata Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for investigation.
Regarding this, Minister Kaushik Chaudhary said, ‘This fire does not seem normal. The fire first broke out on the second and third floors of the building, then how did it reach the 7th and 8th floors without damaging the middle floors? He has expressed doubt on this incident.
