Masik Shivratri 2026 Adhik Maas: In Hindu religion, Shivratri is celebrated every month. This is called monthly Shivratri. The festival of Shivratri is dedicated to Lord Mahadev and Mother Parvati. Monthly Shivratri fast is observed on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of every month and special worship of Lord Bholenath and Mother Parvati is done.
Monthly Shivratri of Adhikamas is considered very special, because this Shivratri comes once in three years. Today is the monthly Shivratri of Jyeshtha Adhikamas. There is a religious belief that by fasting and worshiping on this day, Lord Bholenath and Mother Parvati are very pleased and bestow blessings of happiness and prosperity in life. Adhik Maas Masik Shivratri 2026 Puja Muhurat
Monthly Shivratri worship is considered very auspicious during Nishita period. Today Nishita Kaal is starting at 12 midnight and will end at 12.45 am. During this time, Shiva devotees can worship Bholenath.
Adhik Maas Masik Shivratri Puja Vidhi
- On the monthly Shivratri of Adhikamas, take a bath in the morning and resolve to fast.
- During the worship of Lord Shiva, offer Ganga water, milk and Panchamrit to the Shivalinga.
- Offer Belpatra, Dhatura, Bhang and white flowers.
- During this time, offer 5 types of grains and also offer white sweets. Offer fruits.
- Apply sandalwood on Shivalinga. Light a lamp and chant Om Namah Shivay mantra.
- Also worship Mother Parvati.
- Read the story of Shivratri fast.
- At last perform Aarti of Lord Shiva.
- Break this fast on 14th June i.e. tomorrow.
